Although he gave the crowd on Centre Court quite the scare, top seed Novak Djokovic revealed that there is “nothing damaged” in his left arm despite what appeared to be a nasty fall on Friday afternoon. The 2011 champion went up against Gilles Simon and while the contest was fairly uneventful in comparison to other third round contests, a daunting silence fell on Centre Court when Djokovic slipped and fell onto his left shoulder. He would require four minutes of medical treatment but ultimately regained his composure and closed out the contest shortly thereafter. “It was a sharp pain when I fell, an awkward fall,” Djokovic told BBC television. “I was just hoping there is nothing going on with the joint, luckily there is no damage and I could play. The muscle was quite sore with the impact but I am just glad to get through. Now there are two days off and I am going to try and recover.” He added that he felt “sharp pain” and the muscle “was quite sore because of the impact” but that “luckily there is nothing damaged.” Djokovic is scheduled to face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the fourth round of the tournament on Monday afternoon. For additional head to head predictions of Novak Djokovic Gilles Simon, you can see detailed H2H stats for Novak Djokovic vs Gilles Simon.
