Anderson wins Delray Beach title, beats Matosevic

South African Kevin Anderson won his second career title as he captured the Delray Beach trophy. He defeated the Australian qualifier Marinko Matosevic in straight sets 6-4  7-6 (2) in Sunday’s final.

Anderson played some fantastic tennis throughout the whole week as he beat Roddick and Isner on the way to the final.

The first set of the match started in a quite unusual way as the crowd saw five breaks of serve in a row. After Anderson managed to hold serve to take a 4-2 lead, he held on tight and took a 1-0 set lead.

In the second set, it was the South African who maintained the pressure on Matosevic. The Australian had to save a few break points on his serve to take the set to a tiebreaker. But Anderson got off to a 4-0 with three mini breaks and the faith of the match was pretty much decided.

On the way to the final, Anderson overcame John Isner of America 7-5  7-6 (4) and Matosevic dismissed Dudi Sela of Israel 5-7  6-4  7-6 (7).
