Leander Paes and Janko Tipsarevic won the 2012 Aircel Chennai Open title, beating Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich 6-4 6-4 in the final.
Their victory came only a few hours after Janko Tipsarevic lost the singles final against Milos Raonic in a three hour battle.
“I had a very hard pre-season. I have that every year, fitness in general is one of my strength” was Tipsarevic’s answer to how he was doing physically after such a tough singles match.
This was the sixth title for Paes here and first as a duo together. Paes and Tipsarevic dismissed Rajeev Ram and Scott Lipsky in the semis.
