In what should be one of the more competitive third round clashes on Sunday’s Miami Open schedule, Kyle Edmund and Milos Raonic will play in their second career meeting. Raonic won a tight three setter at Delray Beach back in 2017, 4-6 6-3 6-4. Defending champion John Isner seems the likely opponent for the winner of this match.

With Maximilian Marterer giving Raonic a second round walkover, he comes into this tournament well rested after his exploits at Indian Wells. He will have been disappointed to have lost a winnable semi final to Dominic Thiem but the Austrian going on to win the title may have cooled that down a little. Raonic has been working with Fabrice Santoro recently, adding the the Frenchman to his team alongside Goran Ivanisevic. “We both came in with the understanding that these are two very important tournaments for me in my schedule.” he said on the partnership. “We could maybe try to incorporate things in different ways that I already use but not to try to add anything that would be completely new to me or try to take away the things that I feel most comfortable with.”
Edmund lost to the other Indian Wells finalist with Roger Federer picking up a straight sets win in their fourth round clash. However, Edmund will be happy with his form right now having began the season with two straight losses before a 6 week absence. With his 2018 Australian Open points off the record now, he will be hoping to put another strong season together to get himself back in the top 20.
Prediction – Milos Raonic in three sets
