17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has officially confirmed his participation in the Shanghai Rolex Masters as well as a slew of events that will keep him busier than most on the ATP World Tour for the remainder of the season.
Federer, 33, took to Facebook to unveil his schedule and announce his participation in the Shanghai Masters next week.
“Officially, I’ve decided that I will make the trip next week to Shanghai. I can’t wait to see all my fans and I hope I can win the Shanghai Rolex Masters for the first time!”
This marks the fourth time that the world No. 3 will take part in the Shanghai Masters. It is one of the few Masters titles that have eluded the Swiss star, as he reached the final in 2010 and the semi-final in 2012. He most recently played the event last season, where he lost in the third round to Gael Monfils.
Apart from Shanghai, Federer will play Basel, the Paris Masters, the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, as well as the Davis Cup final versus France. He will then stay busy in the off-season, as he will play the International Premier Tennis League in India as well as an exhibition contest against fellow countryman Stan Wawrinka at the Match for Africa 2 in Zurich.
