While the news that 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer would be getting a new racquet has been commonplace for months now, Wilson has finally unveiled the details of their “autograph” racquet for Federer.
The racquet was designed to have a 26% wider racquet beam as well as the 97″ frame that Federer has used lately. According to Wilson, the ‘RF 97’ was “developed with the help of Roger Federer and engineered for the next generation of tennis, the new Pro Staff delivers more power, a larger headsize, and a bigger sweetspot, but keeps the pure, classic feel that players love.”
“When we broached the subject of developing a more powerful racket that would still fit his needs for responsive ‘feel’ and attacking style, we jumped at the chance to collaborate with him,” Mike Dowse, Wilson president says about Federer.
The racquet is unveiled in the clips featured here and also shows Federer’s funny, loveable side simultaneously.

The racquet will be made available in stores in October 2014.
