The Untied States Tennis Association has announced the seeds for this year’s US Open men’s singles tournament, with world No. 1 Serena Williams leading the charge as the No. 1 seed at the tournament.
Following Williams will be No. 2 seed Simona Halep, No. 3 Petra Kvitova, of the Czech Republic, No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska and 2006 US Open champion Maria Sharapova is seeded fifth.
World No. 3 Li Na, of China, the reigning Australian Open champion, withdrew from the US Open in July with a knee injury.
The singles draws for the 2014 US Open will be revealed live during an official draw ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 12 p.m. ET at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The draw will be streamed live on USOpen.org.
