Budding Australian youngster Nick Kyrgios claimed his second consecutive title since returning from injury, defeating American Jack Sock 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 in the Savannah Sunday final – and he did it all while celebrating his 19th birthday.
After claiming the ATP Challenger Tour title in Florida last week, Kyrgios extended his impressive winning streak to nine matches, winning a second title in the process, and a boost to a career-high ranking of No. 150.
While it was an impressive performance, it was made even more valiant when Kyrgios revealed that he had suffered an injury during the match.
I have a slight abductor strain which is painful but I hope to be okay for Tallahassee next week so I can keep this run going. #NKrising

Kyrgios is expected to take part in the US Claycourt titles in Tallahassee this week, but is uncertain if he will compete.
