Resurgent Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov has confirmed his participation at the Aegon Championships. The event, which is one of the pre-Wimbledon warm-up events, will also feature British No. 1 and defending champion Andy Murray, as well as Czech No. 1 Tomas Berdych.
“It’s a really good tournament, the courts are really good, and it’s great to be in London for some weeks.” Dolgopolov said. “It is all good preparation for Wimbledon, I really enjoyed it last year and I’m looking forward to being there again.”
“Alex is a natural born entertainer, and his recent form is just a glimpse of how special a player he is. In terms of sheer talent, he is one of the most exciting players in the sport, and the things he can do on a tennis court bring spectators to their feet.” Aegon Championships Tournament Director Ross Hutchins commented. “With Alex, Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych already confirmed, we are in for a fantastic week at the Aegon Championships.”
The Aegon Championships takes place between June 9-15 at the grass courts in Queen’s Club.
