El Mundo Deportivo reports that World No. 1 Rafael Nadal cut his finger earlier today. It was the index finger on his left hand, but it appears that the injury is not serious.

Nadal was injured while cutting bread for breakfast on Thursday. Rafa, who plays left-handed even though he is right-handed, was believed to have delayed his practice by approximately an hour. The Spaniard would later make his practice, which confirmed that the injury was not of a serious nature.

Following his amazing achievement yesterday, when he clinched the year-end no. 1 ranking by securing a spot in the semi-finals of the World Tour Finals, Nadal is scheduled to meet Tomas Berdych in the final group stage match tomorrow night. The World Tour Finals is arguably the only major title missing from Nadal’s extraordinary cabinet of trophies and he will be looking to finally win the year-end championships for the first time in his storied career.
