Tournament organizers have revealed that  defending champion Bernard Tomic, World No. 5 Juan Marin del Potro and Jerzy Janowicz have been announced as the latest entrants in the 2014 Sydney International.

World No. 51 Bernard Tomic will be defending the Sydney title, his maiden ATP World Tour Title, at the event in January. He has had a turbulent 2013 season riddled with personal issues and disappointing performances and will be looking to start the year with a strong showing in Sydney.

“Winning Sydney really changed me and made me feel that I can win these tournaments.”Tomic said. “I?m really looking forward to coming back and having a shot at defending my title.”

Argentina’s Del Potro is coming off a strong 2013 season with titles in Basel, Tokyo, Washington and Rotterdam. He has compiled a 51-16 record this year, which include six top 10 wins.

“I know the fans like when I hit my forehand really strong.” Del Potro said. “I like to share moments with the crowd and in Sydney the fans create a great atmosphere for the players.”

World No. 21 Jerzy Janowicz will be taking part in the Sydney International for the first time in his career as a warm-up event for the Australian Open a few weeks later in Melbourne.
