The 2013 US Open final between Djokovic & Nadal is almost upon us – their first Slam meeting since the epic French Open 2013 five setter. What do the stats tell us about who will lift the trophy?

Nadal’s comments before the final: “I prefer to play against another opponent. Just talking about a final, I want to play against a player that I have more chances to win. Novak is a great opponent. There are other ones, but it’s true we have already played a lot of important matches for our career, so that makes that confrontation special. And when you have the chance to win against the most difficult players, it’s true that the victory is more special.”

Todays US Open final will be the 6th final Slam meeting between these 2 legends, with Nadal leading the slam head to head by three to two. The last time
these guys met was in the French Open Roland Garros 2013 Semi-final

Overall this is the 37th meeting in the Djokovic vs Nadal rivalry, which is a huge amount of matches, being the most in the open era.

This is only the the 12th time in the Open Era for the US Open that the number one and Number two seeds are meeting in the final match with the number 2 seeds holding a 6-5 match-up advantage.
