Roger Federer will play Tommy Haas in this year’s Gerry Weber semi-finals, a rematch from the last year’s final in which the German prevailed.
Federer booked his semis spot with a more than impressive performance, double bageling his opponent Misha Zverev 6-0 6-0, second such an achievement in the Swiss’ illustrous career.
On the other hand, Haas had to dig a lot deeper against Frenchman Gael Monfils as he came back from a set down to win 6-7 (4) 6-3 6-3.
Some stats going into the Roger vs Tommy SF clash: Federer managed to lift the trophy here in Halle five times alltogether, Haas emerged victorious twice. Roger leads the head to head with 10-3 and this will be their fourth meeting at the Gerry Weber Open, with the Swiss leading 2-1.
In the other semis, Frenchman Richard Gasquet will square off against Mikhail Youzhny of Russia.
