Tipsarevic to play Agut in Chennai Open 2013 final

Second seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut will square off for the Chennai Open 2013 title.

Tipsarevic booked his final space after coming back from a set down to defeat Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene 4-6 6-2 6-2 in two hours and 5 minutes.

Agut, who elminated top seed Berdych in the quarter-finals, managed to break the Serbian player in he ninth game of the first set just before serving it out.

However, Tipsarevic regained focus and stormed to take the next two sets with some very fine performance.

In the other semi-final match, world no.80 Roberto Bautista Agut overcame 5th seeded Frenchman Benoit Paire also in three sets 3-6 6-1 6-4.

Agut shook off the loss of the first set with winning seven out of eight games, levelling the encounter at one set all.

After both players traded one break each at the start of the decider, it was the Spaniard who went on to take his opponent’s serve once more just before closing out the match on his own serve.
