The ATP World Tour Finals will be keeping us all entertained this week and many tipsters on OLBG will have even more interest as they battle it out for £200 worth of prizes in the ATP World Tour Finals Tipping Competition. OLBG members have been adding their thoughts to the OLBG Tipping Competition as well as the tennis forum on OLBG but what have they pinpointed as the best bets for the week’s play?
Novak Djokovic is the favourite to triumph in this tournament ahead of the first match and unsurprisingly he is the most popular pick in the OLBG Tipping Competition. At the time of writing, 36.2% of outright tips have been in favour of the Serbian Australian and French Open winner this year. OLBG member ‘opie75’ thinks Andy Murray has closed the gap on Djokovic this season but he still reckons Novak has the edge over Murray and will bow out this season on a high. Meanwhile ‘schneedler25’ thinks Djokovic’s shock exit last week will be a blessing in disguise and he thinks Djokovic will continue his impressive form from this year so he’s backing Djokovic at around 9/4.
Andy Murray doesn’t have a huge amount to find with Djokovic according to the bookies who generally make him an 11/4 shot. He’s the second most backed player in the OLBG Tipping Competition currently with 21.3% of tips in his favour and one of the OLBG members who fancies Murray for a big ATP World Tour Finals is ‘SecretSquirrel’ who writes:
“Andy Murray is having a great year. He’s won a Gold medal, the US Open and reached semi finals of numerous events. At 11/4 he looks great value to win this as any of the top guys can beat each other on their day. Federer has won this event the last two years and is a threat as is Djokovic. Murray is coached by Ivan Lendl who has a terrific track record in the ATP finals and will inspire Murray to go on and win this.”
Relative to his odds, Roger Federer seems more popular than Andy Murray at 3/1 considering 19.1% of tips have gone for last year’s winner. ‘maxxam5’ thinks Federer is still the toughest player to beat with a record of just 10 losses in 78 matches whilst ‘dynamark’ thinks Federer has “all the experience, skills, fitness and ability to out shine the rest plus he’s recently rested in preparation for this tournament.”
It would be wise not to completely rule out any of the other players in a wide open tournament this year. Juan Martin Del Potro and David Ferrer are best of the rest in the OLBG Tipping Competition with 8.5% of tips each and ‘Drobgod’ sounds positive about Del Potro’s chances on the OLBG Tennis Forum, he thinks Del Potro is in the easier group and is playing well enough to beat anybody this week so he fancies the Argentine at 9/1.
