Roger Federer hit top form while beating Andy Murray 7-6 (5) 6-2 in the semi-finals at the ATP World Tour Finals 2012 at the O2 arena in London.

The Scot started superbly and secured a early break of serve only for Federer to come back and ultimately take the set in closely contested tiebreak.

Federer added some more moments of magic to his extensive highlights reel during the second set, which he won handily 6-2.

This was the third occasion that Federer and Murray have played each other in London this year. Federer beat Murray in the Wimbledon final before Murray took gold in the Olympic final.

Despite home court advantage tonight, Murray was booed by the sections of the O2 crowd after smashing his racquet.

Currently ranked number two in the world, Federer goes on to meet world number one Novak Djokovic in a fitting finale to the ATP season on Monday night.
