US Open 2012 Draw To Be Announced on Thursday

US Open 2012, the fourth Grand Slam Tournament of the year, will commence on Monday (27th August – 9th September).

The Draws for both men’s and women’s competitions are to be released tomorrow (Thursday 23rd August) at 12pm ET and stevegtennis will bring you a detailed preview and analysis.

Seeding for the Men’s Singles:

Five-time champion Roger Federer has been confirmed as no.1 seed, the defending champion Novak Djokovic will be seeded second. With Nadal witdrawing from the tournament due to a knee injury, British Olympic winner Andy Murray will be seeded as no.3 and Spaniard David Ferrer as no.4.

Seeding for the Women’s Singles:

Victoria Azarenka, the 2012 Wimbledon semifinalist, will be top seed. She will be followed by the 2012 Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska and the 2012 Roland Garros Champion Maria Sharapova. The hot favourite for the title, Serena Williams in seeded as no.4. Last year’s champion Samantha Storur will go into the tournament as no.7 seed.
