Andy Murray cruised into the last 8 of the Barcelona Open after he overpowered Colombian Santiago Giraldo 6-1  6-2.

Two breaks of serve for Murray secured him the first set. He took Giraldo’s serve at the beginning of set 2, but the Colombian broke back to level the score at 2-2. Unfortunately for him, Murray stepped up his game and winning the next four games, he set up a quarterfinal match against Milos Raonic of Canada.

The 11th seed Raonic showed some high quality clay court tennis as he beat the Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-3  6-3.

Both players were supposed to meet at the Miami Masters a couple of weeks ago, but Raonic was forced to pull out of the match due to an injury.

Also through to the quarters is the 3th seed Spaniard David Ferrer, who allowed his opponent Albert Montanes only two games, winning 6-0  6-2.

Ferrer will play fellow countryman Feliciano Lopez, who eliminated Jarkko Nieminen of Finland 6-3  6-1.
