The top 3 seeds at the Dubai Championships made their way into the semifinals.

Top seed and world no.1 Novak Djokovic beat his fellow countryman Janko Tipsarevic in the quarterfinals in Dubai, winning 6-1  7-6 (6).

Tipsarevic wasn´t too far away from forcing a third set as he had a set point at 6-5 in the second set tiebreak. But he double faulted and this helped Djokovic to a two sets victory.

Djokovic will now face Andy Murray in the semifinals.

Murray also needed two sets to book his place in the semis as he defeated Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic 6-3 7-5.

The other semifinal encouter will be between the Swiss Roger Federer and Argentine’s Del Potro.

Federer eased to the last 4, overcoming Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-3  6-4. The Swiss is hoping to win his 5th Dubai title this year.

The Argentine Del Potro ousted the no.4 seed Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 (1)  6-2 and set up yet another match against the 16 time Grand Slam champ and former world no.1 Federer.
