Elena Vesnina, as she mentioned after the match, ‘will remember this day for the rest of her life’. She beat the former Serbian world nr.1 Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 at the New Haven Open. There are two reasons for her to remember this day forever – she beat the Serbian after an earthquake evacuation, that delayed the match for over two hours. Jankovic reached the final in Cincinnati last week, but Vesnina was the one who managed to cope with the 2 hour delay better and seal the vicory at athe end.
