Giner still has a commanding lead with 80 matches played in 2002. Igor Andreev of Russia has moved into second place, having quite a year with a 47-15 record. Jan Hajek of the Czech Republic moves into 9th place.
Not much action among the top players in this category. Matias Boeker suffered a first round loss (only his second loss of the year). Radek Stepanek is back in the top 10 and in at #11 is Miles MacLagan, the Scottish veteran who has been dwelling in the four-digit rankings but is much better than that. He finally broke through last week, qualifying for and winning Romania F3. He now has a 28-7 record this year.
