Special exempts are for players that are not unable to compete in the qualifying for next weeks events because they still are in the draw of this weeks events when the qualifying for next weeks events starts. Only players who weren´t direct acceptances in next weeks tournaments can get an SE.

So when the SE´s are cleared it usually means that no player from this week went to the semis that wasn´t a direct acceptance on next weeks list!

Puh....pretty hard to explain in text.... :)

Thank you. But in every tournament there are SE spots "just in case..."? How many? And if there are no players from this week who are still in semis, the SE spots are cleared and go to who? Lucky losers?

As Zicoforol says it goes to players next on the alt.list. Masters Series and International Series Gold have one SE and International Series and Challengers have two. Grand slams don´t have any SE because you can only get an SE to a tournament that are at the same or lowel level than the one the week before
