It looks like that alternate list is using the 6/20/05 rankings rather than the 7/4/05 rankings; it's exactly the same as the alternate list for Montreal.

If Martin is the last player in the main draw, then the alternate list (using the 7/4/05 rankings) should be:

1. Santoro, Fabrice (FRA )
2. Mello, Ricardo (BRA )
3. Horna, Luis (PER )
4. Hanescu, Victor (ROM )
5. Carlsen, Kenneth (DEN )
6. Mathieu, Paul-Henri (FRA )
7. Zib, Tomas (CZE )
8. Sanguinetti, Davide (ITA )
9. Verdasco, Fernando (ESP )
10. Hernych, Jan (CZE )
11. Lee, Hyung-Taik (KOR )
12. Malisse, Xavier (BEL )
13. Zabaleta, Mariano (ARG )
14. Fish, Mardy (USA )
15. Kohlschreiber, Philipp (GER )

From 8/8/05 tournament e-mail:

The W&SFG Masters has also announced the recipients of its four wild cards. Americans ROBBY GINEPRI, JAMES BLAKE, MARDY FISH and France's GAEL MONFILS have all accepted wild cards into the main draw at this year's W&SFG MASTERS, which will be held August 12-21. Ginepri and Monfils have each won a tournament this year - for Monfils, it was his first.

from U.S. Open topic:
"Blake, however, probably will get a direct acceptance because you'd expect at least three players to be injured badly enough not to play, and that might include Mardy Fish (No. 68 ), who quit his match in Indianapolis Thursday with residual pain from his recent wrist surgery. "
I think a wild card will give to another player, why Goldstein is out from the qualies?

He earned it. Unless he were to turn it down for some reason, it's his.
