Gee, only need about 9 more to pull out from the MD so Alex won't have to play Quallies just to get to MD and defend his points

Patrik, I don't know when exactly you're going to Bastad but I'm going to France now and won't be able to keep up with Bastad scores so I wanted to wish you happy holidays and please support all of "you know who". Polish double team has an air-plane on Sunday (at the moment they're still here in Wroclaw at Polish Championship, Mariusz "managed" to lose today 1/6 2/6 to Michal Przysiezny :KooKoo: , they're still in draw in the doubles, but I really don't think they won't lose until Sunday) Greetings :)
so sick of love songs.

4 more to go...there's a sliver of hope even though this is Thursday.

Sort of surprised to see that Melzer would pull from Newport.

Will be very exciting to see who he draws and already looking forward to see the match, he´s been playing good so far winning two Swedish summertour events in which he in the last one beat Sarstrand ranked 253 in the world!

Have you been able to actually see him play in these events he's won? Obviously, his form must be good. It's too bad that he's not get ranking points for the tourneys that he's been playing :( . Look forwad to seeing him ranked again...no matter if its in the thousands to start.

No, unfortunately I haven´t been able to see him in those events, they have been to far away from Stockholm! I´m curious how he´s gonna do with his schedule after Båstad! I will ask him in Båstad and if you´re interseted I´ll post the info here.

I know that I am interested. If he's considering coming all the way to Los Angeles to play Quallies in a few weeks that might be nice to hear.

Edit: After posting this the first time, I realized how unlikely it would be for Vinci to come to the States for Quallies. When he had to pull away from the game he was already outside the top 100 so his PR will only be good enough for him to get into the Challengers. Hopefully, he will use his PR status wisely.

OK, one more update before I go to the airport and disappear for the day:

Gstaad: (2 SE spots cleared)
OUT: A.Costa, F.Gonzalez, C.Rochus (and Karlovic, Tabara, Benneteau, Ventura, Simon, I.Minar from ALT)
IN: Seppi, Hernych, Wawrinka, Behrend, Sargsian
NEXT: DiMauro, O.Hernandez, Calleri, Montanes, Tipsarevic, Ulihrach, Serra, N.Lapentti, Sabau, Aldi

Bastad and Newport - no change from above so far.

Projected seeds in Bastad:
Seed Name Nationality Rank Points
1 Nadal, Rafael ESP 3 3600
2 Johansson, Joachim SWE 10 1620
3 Robredo, Tommy ESP 14 1455
4 Moya, Carlos ESP 21 1330
5 Ferrero, Juan Carlos ESP 31 1075
6 Youzhny, Mikhail RUS 34 1055
7 Soderling, Robin SWE 37 925
8 Acasuso, Jose ARG 46 781

If any of the above withdraw, the next players are Berdych (#49) and A.Martin (#52)

Interesting to note that WC Lapentti (#96) is ranked higher than 6 players who got direct acceptance.

Final Updates:

Gstaad: (2 SE spots cleared)
OUT: A.Costa, F.Gonzalez, Puerta, C.Rochus (and Karlovic, Tabara, Benneteau, Ventura, Simon, I.Minar from ALT)
IN: Seppi, Karlovic, Hernych, Wawrinka, Behrend, Sargsian, DiMauro
NEXT: O.Hernandez, Calleri, Montanes, Tipsarevic, Ulihrach, Serra, N.Lapentti, Sabau

Bastad: (2 SE spots cleared)
OUT: Chela, Hrbaty (and Behrend, Benneteau, Ventura, Simon, I.Minar from ALT)
IN: Tabara, J.Nieminen, Bjorkman, DiMauro
NEXT: O.Hernandez, Calleri, Montanes, Tipsarevic, Ulihrach, Serra, N.Lapentti, Sabau, Aldi, Saretta

Newport: (2 SE spots cleared)
OUT: Beck, Fish, Gambill, Gimelstob, Melzer, Mutis, Phau, Schalken (and Bastl, Lu, Voltchkov, Suzuki, Tursunov, Navarro-Pastor, Karanusic, Peya, Baker, Berlocq, Guzman from ALT)
IN: Mertinak, Waske, Bracciali, Vik, Delic, Dancevic, Y-T.Wang, Elseneer, Bogomolov, Reynolds,
NEXT: Weiner, Garcia, Salzenstein, Udomchoke, Gallardo-Valles

I suppose DiMauro would have gone to one of the two places, Gstaad and Bastad - so one more spot clears at the other place.

I guess he chose Gstaad for obvious geographic reason... so Hernandez will probably get in at Bastad and further increase the Spanish armada there...

Thanks Jay. I had such a strong feeling about Fish (wrist), Gimelstob (muscle strain, sore back), Gambill (legs), and Tursunov (back). Wonder who got the last wildcard?

Looks like the ATP is on top of things...they've confused the Newport tourney ID with Bastad it appears

I put in the ID for Newport (just for the heck of it) and I got the Bastad draw. You can also get the Bastad draw with Bastad's tourney ID.
