[11 april 2005] Coria, Haas, Nadal, Schalken, Dementieva, Molik, Pierce and Krajicek come to Rosmalen. The international grass tournament, the Ordina open, presents an attractive list of players, comprising of renowned top 10 players combined with rising talents, this year.

Top 10 players Elena Dementieva and Alicia Molik head the commitment list for the women. Together with defending champion Mary Pierce and Russian Nadia Petrova, they will battle for the title. The talented Argentine Gisela Dulko and our compatriot Michaëlla Krajicek complete the current starting list.

[Now the article makes no sense, cause they mixed a few sentences, but I will type what they mean]

For the men, the list is headed by last year's finalist Guillermo Coría. The Argentine Top 10 player has good company in red-hot talent Rafael Nadal and the talented Croat Mario Ancic. German Tommy Haas, who is having an incredible comeback, will also be present as well as sympathetic Tommy Robredo [:woohoo:]. The Dutch presence comes from Ordina-ambassador Sjeng Schalken and Raemon Sluiter. During the next edition play will be on four renovated grass courts that have a clay surface beneath. After the construction of a test court in 2004, it has been decided to give both Centre Court as well as Court 1 and 2 the exact same surface as the courts of Wimbledon, which enables the players even better to prepare themselves for the most important Grand Slam of the year.

On Sunday, June 12th, there will be a charity event, next to the qualifying matches (only ATP). In a mini tournament tennis players form couples with Dutch celebrities and will play against each other. The Dutch players will of course be present as well as a few foreign top players. After this mini tournament the afternoon will be concluded with a Wimbledon Revanche. Two top players, one of which is Richard Krajicek, who were once in a Wimbledon final, will meet each other on the grass courts of Rosmalen to defend their honour. The revenues will go to Right to Play, the organisation founded by former speed skating champion Johann Olav Koss.

Thanks seb! This means there will be only one player using a protected ranking on the entry list! 103 + 1 PR + 8 WC's + 16 Q'q = 128 players !

Here it is:

PARIS (Reuters)

Probably some 4-5 players will withdraw as usually.

every year, AO gives a wild card to a french player as RG gives one to an australian...
so maybe luczak, reid, or philippoussis?

I think it is the Australian federation who decide this, so it will be Philippoussis if he wants to play, otherwise I think it will be Luczak, not Reid who is not very good on clay.

Queens/Halle are ATP events, the list for those comes up six weeks in advance, for challengers its only three weeks in advance, so the list for Surbiton will come out around the 11th of May

Ok, on the wta entry lists you get the qualifying entries listed as well. But it doesnt seem this happens for the atp? usually how long is it before the event a qualy list will be announced/released?

Depends on the event. Regular ATP events don't usually do qualie lists, they just do alternate lists and just about anyone who shows up and signs in by 9 pm local time on Friday night can play in qualies. Most of the time the draws show up late Friday at the links that are usually posted here.

For the Slams, qualie lists are done 21 days in advance. There are a few ATP events that do advance qualie lists (I think Japan was one?) and those are usually 2-3 weeks in advance.

How many times does this have to be answered around here. The entry deadlines are 6 weeks for ATP Tournaments, and 3 weeks for Challengers. Get a calendar out and count backwards.

You know some people don't see when that question is answered and they don't have the time to search each and every thread for that answer. I am one of those people.

You could have answered that question without such a rude opening.

I thought that we were allowed to ask questions freely here...whether they have been asked and answered already. If this was someone with a familar username then I would apologize for the irritation but you're just a guest and not the one who posts the lists so I couldn't care less.

Too bad Gaudio decided to piss on the tournament now he is a star. The guarantees are higher in Gstaad than Båstad. Actually the field they announced for Båstad last year was quite good as well.

Big surprise Ferrero is playing there.

Totally agree with you about the Gaudio thing, nice to see Nadal and Moya coming back every year though, and though guarantees are higher in Gstaad I think Båstad the last couple of years have had better players and more profiles than Gstaad!

Yes, I am one of Gaudio's biggest fans, but yes I am very disappointed that he didn't come back this year. The 2004 field was a very good one and I think Calleri would be there except for Davis Cup and his back problems. I agree that it's great to see Nadal, Moya coming back and I think Gonzalez and Massu would be there as well.

It's funny the times I have not been there, the field has got better. I remember the days of Horst Skoff and Gusten.

Båstad was much better than Gstaad and it would have to be cause of the guarantee that Gaudio isn't playing. I hope Zabaleta is fit as I could imagine he'd be there as well.

Heia Pepes Bodega.
