If he does so it´s rather very good than a joke! Always positive when a player plays the events at home even if it´s a challenger, he´s very populare in Croatia and it´s a good opportunity for fans to see their star at home! For him it´s good practice and maybe get some matches before RG and to do so where he lives instead of only being there to practice.

Does anyone know if anybody has pulled out of the challengers apart from Fergana so there is a chance that Andy Murray will get in. This could otherwise create a problem if he reaches the latter stages of Spain F7 and he still has to qualify.

I believe they may delay the Fergana sign-in to tomorrow if they are playing. A lot of players at the UZB F4 futures are stuck at Andijan due to the unrest, and they were all going to be taken as a group to Fergana tomorrow morning or something. We will wait and see what happens.

It seems like the half-a-dozen British players will be flying home from Tashkent on Monday, according to reports here. Richard Bloomfield's mum was quoted as saying they got an armed vehicle to the British Embassy in Tashkent and are going home as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.

Fergana challenger update:

The tournament is ON, and they have posted the qualifying draw at the link above. I have got confirmation that the cut finally fell to at least #650. I heard from India that Karan Rastogi (who was the last one in the NEXT list I posted above) made the cut in the end. There was of course confusion with the British players having to be evacuated etc (they all withdrew, I believe) due to the unrest situation in UZB. Unfortunate. Anyway, we will have to wait till the main draw comes out tomorrow to see who all were finally in it.

here are the names that follow Karan Rastogi in the entry list who *might have* made it in -- Yarmola, Colangelo, Zeng, Kravchuk, Krotiouk, Dupuy, Lu, Nesticky, Inoyatov, Lobanov. Lobanov is in the qualifying list, so any of those players above him may have made the main draw. There are definitely pllayers like Klaasen in the qualifying list who might be sad that they could have made it in, had they entered the challenger (but the qualies don't seem to be too tough).

what has Korteling done to deserve a SE :? can't find him on any challenger draw, so he surely can't get a SE (all the SE spots have been cleared this week)

ok, he's in the final of the Italy future. But can't a future make someone get into a challenger as an SE?

nah [-X

A Qualified Event for Special Exempt to a Challenger Series Tournament is the singles event of an ATP or Challenger Series Tournament within the same geographic region.

Amir Hadad had a busy day yesterday... he played (and lost) the final of a future in Hungary, then went to Budapest for the challenger qualifying, won his 1st round match, and the 2nd match (his 3rd of the day) was suspended at 0-6 3-3.

thanks for the update Jay

it looks like all the qualifying matches were played today :o all the players that won their first match lost the 2nd, so there's like nobody who had to play 3 matches on 1 day, but still ... kinda weird

main draw is out, the final cut has dropped to #743
