They added Pavel, Andrei ROM 38. So, Verdasco is out.

Queens
Spot 43,44,45 in the list (originally 2 SE-spots and 1 of 5 WC's) are now occupied by Benneteau (98), Clement (101) and Lisnard (102).
So now we have 4 WC's, 7 Qualifiers and no SE-spots.

BD, I wonder if those lists are still wrong. How can you have 7 qualifiers? Doesn't it have to be an even number? Also, what tournament could provide an SE for Halle? The week before is RG and a few Challengers. Did I misunderstand the SE rule when it comes to Challnegers/Tour events?

And we get the lists 1 -3 days after that. So where's the Wimbledon list? argh...

So now we have 4 WC's, 7 Qualifiers and no SE-spots.

Well, there is still confusion about what exactly is going on with the list for Queens.

The list was revised at the time when BD posted this, and ATP still shows that as the entry list (45 players IN). But they also list two SEs available (and that sounds right! - what if somebody from outside top-100 ends up in the RG semi, as posted above?)

But the tournament website still shows the original 42 player + 2 SEs + 7 wildcards. I assume that they are simply wrong in what they are showing (even though they just posted that Scud got a wildcard and all that).

Now, here is the added confusion. ATP's board decided at the Monte carlo meeting that the Qualifying draw size is reduced to 32 for Queens (on an experimental basis, apparently. Same with the 56 draws at Indianapolis and Washington also). This came out only 3 weeks back on May 2nd. I believe that is when they changed the list and added 3 more players in.

So, now there is a revised official fact sheet for Queens (SteveG needs to update his fact sheet too), which states that the qualifying draw will be of size 32, but does not state if it is 2 rounds for 8 qualifiers or 3 rounds for 4 (as usual ATP and ITF fact sheets never say how many rounds for how many qualifiers - they just say the size of the draw which is pointless!).

The question is this - How many wildcards and qualifiers are there now? How do you get 7 qualifiers from a 32 draw. Is it now a 3-round 32-draw finding just FOUR qualifiers? If so, then ATP's 45 players + 2 SEs would leasve us with 5 WCs. I think that is all which makes sense.

I am assuming that it will be 45 direct entries + 2 SEs + 5 WCs + 4 Qs, but no confirmation can be found in any official documents, as far as I can see.

Anyway, allowing only 4 qualifiers in for a 56-draw event is criminal. Why does ATP constantly try to make it tougher for players trying to prove themselves the hard way? To me, there should be twice the number of qualifiers in all these events than what they now have. Instead they keep reducing the numbers.

Additional, really pleased Andy Murray dumped his coach. You can change a player's strokes but you should never change their attitude or their aggression. The player can only do that and that only comes with experience. Federer certainly springs to mind there.

Nice to see Andy defeating Del Potro at RG juniors, it's easily the win of the year for him, and serving some aces too.

Monfils received a wild card into Roland Garros.

The annual limit for wild cards is five (not eight). Wild cards aren't counted toward a player's annual limit except when the player was ranked high enough for direct acceptance (like Agassi in Houston).
