I have a question and maybe someone can answer that...

If a player (in that case Alex Corretja) has entered both, a challenger and the qualies for a Masters and is alternate on both lists, what if he makes the main draw at the challenger and the qualies, is he free to choose where to play or bound to any of those two?

TIA! :)

No Sjeng Schalken in the quali draw :? On his site he said he would be. It's sad he isn't.

Schalken plays the Prague challenger in week 19 so I guess that explains why he isn't on the qual list for Hamburg.

2005 ATP Official Rulebook:
Seeds -ATP and Challengers
Seeded teams will be determined by using the combined doubles ranking of the two players (entry protection not included). Ties shall be broken as follows:
1) The team with the fewest events played is positioned higher.
2) The team with the highest number of points is positioned higher.
3) A coin flip or draw if a tie remains.

Thanks for all your work Jay, but I presume you mean no SE spots 'yet', because there might be two coming from Rome of course. I haven't checked, so I dunno if you always enter it this way in advance.

Hay Jay!
I have a question, hope you can answer. You have Calleri as first alternate in quali-list. But on the original list I got, Calleri was the last direct acceptance. So I guess ATP forgot a player, and added him later. Do you know who it is?
Thx for the updates!

Ah, I didn't notice. They must have made a change in the initial list in which they didn't have Montanes, Albert ESP 77 ... He is in the list. That makes the 28th spot that you have ??? on ...

That is how Calleri ended up first out. He is IN now ..
Update: No change in either list from above.

Karlovic has entered the main draw, so he should be out of quali draw.
Ascione is in now and Carraz is the first out.

Updates:

Hamburg Main (one SE spot CLEARED)
OUT: Dent, ElAynaoui, Hewitt, Malisse (and Zabaleta, R.Mello, Fish, Carlsen, H-T.Lee from the ALT)
IN: Llodra, Mayer, A.Costa, A.Martin, Karlovic,
NEXT: Puerta, Muller, Montanes, K.Kim, C.Rochus, Starace, Calleri

Hamburg Q
OUT: Acasuso, Arthurs, Burgsmuller, A.Costa, Fish, Karlovic, Koubec, A.Martin, Montanes, Muller, Zabaleta (and Calleri, Enqvist, Clement, Waske, Luczak, Corretja from ALT)
IN: Almagro, Phau, Behrend, D.Sanchez, Wawrinka, Simon, Ascione, Carraz, Seppi, Popp, Heuberger
NEXT: N.Lapentti, Bastl, Chiudinelli, Elseneer, Okun, Kindlmann, Suzuki, Vicente, Summerer

That is probably the last official list. There may have been additional changes at the site like what is said above about Bjorkman (if so Lapentti or whoever is available on site would have gone into the Q draw) ... I have no confirmation.
