Mathieu could have problem to play qualies in Rome as he has to play late his quarter against Moya in Estoril.

If he lose, he may ask Rome to schedule him late, but if he win, I will have to withdraw.

Wait and see.

that doesn't mean anything - his site said he was playing Monte Carlo til the draw came out and he wasn't in it. The article about him playing the Tunica challenger is unclear so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Luzzi has lost against Serra in the semifinals of the Rome Challenger (3-6, 6-3, 6-2)

I believe that Mardy will play Rome, since he got into the main draw. The article seemed to imply that the wildcard was his if he wanted it.

The final of the Roma Challenger will bring together Florent Serra and Olivier Patience ; the last-mentioned will be playing his Challenger final around 1pm and then the Masters Qualifying (last match on Court 3 vs Jan Hernych).

OK, I understand for Monfils who is still playing in Tunis (Challenger semifinals). But could someone tell me why Clément withdrew ? He lost his quarterfinal match yesterday and Tunis isn't so far away from Rome...

Federer OUT. Who replace the number one ?

Martin, firt on the list alternate ? or a lucky loser after the qualification ?

Probably Hyung-Taik Lee replaces Federer, he isn't playing the qualifying

Sjeng Schalken isn't playing in the qualie draw apparantly. In the live scores Sabau is playing Almagro or is it a mistake?

Schuettler is in the draw. If he (or anyone else) pulls out between now and his scheduled match he will be replaced by LL.

No, that has nothing to do with it. The ITF honors ATP suspensions. For example, when Koubek was suspended for three months earlier this year, he was not able to play the Australian Open or the Davis Cup 1R tie (both ITF events) either.

Malisse is suspended for weeks 17-20 (including the Davis Cup Zonal tie, an ITF event, in week 17). Roland Garros is weeks 21-22 (after his suspension is over).

He went to Rome to see the ATP physician on-site, but his status is currently unknown. As defending champion, his request for a Tuesday start was granted.

NEWS FROM ROME
Moya yesterday doesn't trained, tomorrw has only made muscular heating, he will try to play without many hopes to finish; while A. Martin is entered in draw in place of Fish.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the Spanish press to explain Robredo's loss, but he was a finalist in singles and doubles in Estoril, so may have been heavily fatigued.

Rome 0-pointer list

Postby Steve G » Wed May 04, 2005 8:34 am

Nothing at all is coming from the ITF this week. Must be vacation time. ;)

I need a list of Rome zero-pointers. (Players who will receive a 0 for not playing). From the list above, can someone compile one?

Federer
Hewitt
Spadea
Dent
Malisse
Zabaleta*
Fish

The only one I'm unsure about is Zabaleta. From the forum updates, it appears he withdrew while he was still an alternate (before he was in the main draw pool).
