Rochus, Christophe has been selected to play for Belgium in the Davis Cup against S&M . so he will probably have to withdrawal for the Estoril tournament

regards
PR

ps : FYI; other players selected to play against S&M are O Rochus, K. Vliegen & D. Norman (G. Elseneer reserve)

In Estoril : Alt. No. 41
In Münich : Alt. No. 42

So, he'll have to play qualies or get a wild card to make it to the main draw.

Italy and Morrocco also play in DC this week, so Voladri could be out of Estoril, El-Aynaoui and Starace from Munich.

Just curious...
Is there a rule of ATP that allows a player to withdraw from a tournament for Davis Cup after the official deadline?

I mean... if a player not originally named to the team gets a call to the squad after the Friday withdrawl deadline...

I don't think there is such a rule, but I suppose in those cases, the country simply pays the fine for the player?

Sorry to be picky but isn't it Munich rather than Münich? If you're using the German, then of course it's München ;)

Completely correct, Check ;)

Hey BD and Jay, could you put the tournament website next to or directly under the City name when you posts the lists?

I hope you don't mind me asking you to do more work for us. Thank you both. I couldn't do my website :Computer: without you two and Steve G.

Good catch, Fee. I have edited it above. Kerr/Prieto are going to Munich. ATP had changed that. They are pretty good at correcting things quickly ..

He is thinking about it, but it depends how he feels after another few days training- he is still recovering from the virus he had which was very debilitating and nothing is definate yet. If he does ask for one it will be Munich and not Estoril though.

There are no entry list for qualifying for international series tournaments (smaller events) as Estoril and Munich are. Players just go there and sign in before friday night.

David Nalbandian will decide tomorrow (Friday) whether he is fit to play in Munich. He has been offered a Wild Card if he feels able to play.

just wondering why Ferrero is still in the "next" list if he's already got a wc? does it mean that if he ends up being able to get in on his own, the wc will go to someone else instead?

he'll probably get IN eventually , if not then he's a SE candidate... so the WC will probably go to someone else imho

don't think so ... we only know that Robredo didn't get one and that he had plans to sign in for the qualies (but i think he'll get the WC that was reserved for Ferrero) and we also know that they wanted Gasquet to give one but it was not possible because he has to play a challenger
