I have seen that happen too.

Even worse... you can withdraw from one tournament where you would have eventually got into the main draw, go to another tourney to play qualifying and not even get in!!!

pozaking wrote:I have a question. If Bruno Echagaray get in at Forest Hills he can play there or he has to withdraw because he is the top seed in USA F10???
I know it´s a stupid question but I want to know.

he has to play the futures tournament if he was in the original entry list , and since he top seed that is probably the case

Yes, of course.. This happened to Luczak 5 weeks back, when he made the Valencia cut which dropped like a rock on the last day .. he thought he had a better chance at Casablanca which was dropping earlier .. Went there and it was too late to make travel plans to Valencia (I don't know why; He only had to get there by early next week -- may be he didn't know or something) .. Was the top seed and had to play qualies at Casablanca .. He lost 6-4 in the 3rd set of the final qualifying match against Mertinak who then drew a qualifier in the first round to add insult to injury .. Luczak must have waited for two days for a lucky loser spot, and that too did not come through .. The poor guy lost a whole week for nothing!
