florentino wrote:Thx for the clarification Pat. But if he were to make the qualies, he would be seeded with his ranking from the week preceding play right?
In Monte Carlo, Nadal had direct acc. #33, moving ahead of the 10 WD's above him which gives #23. Still, he was ranked 11th seed.

The problem for gasquet is that he hasn't signed in for this tournament. Otherwise he would have been seeded for the qualies based on his brand new ranking. Now he can only count on a Wild card.

Di Mauro WC is very questionnable. The other WCs are OK.
Hopefully Ferrero will come from qualies to tournament win (and will get some extra 15 points for qualifying)

It is not true, because this rule is valid for International Series, Challengers and Futures only.
They make an entry list for qualies for GS, Master Series and IS Gold that are based on the ranking available 3 weeks before start of play.
The priority for alternates is therefore:
1/ signed player (ranking from 3 weeks before)
2/ unsigned player (last available ranking)
