I heard Gasquet say he was going to play Rome and Hamburg, but he isn't in any of the entry lists. Is he going to get a wild card or is he going to play qualies again ? I'm not sure he can even enter qualies without a WC

Doesn´t matter, it´s the ranking of six weeks ago that counts! Now he is in a good position for tournaments starting in six weeks time and forward (from the week of Queens, Halle and so on...)

In Monte Carlo, Nadal had direct acc. #33, moving ahead of the 10 WD's above him which gives #23. Still, he was ranked 11th seed.

Yes, if he makes the qualies he will be seeded of the ranking that comes out next week.

Acceptance = The ranking of 6 weeks before
Seeding = The ranking the week before tournament start

Two WC would have to be assigned to Ferrero and Starace(i don't think Starace will be able to entry directly in MD)

I read that the reason he won't miss RG is because it's technically an ITF, and not an ATP, event. And the suspension is from the ATP.

Hewitt won't play Rome Masters

Lleyton Hewitt, a finalist at the Australian Open in January, will miss the Rome Masters starting on 2 May due to an ankle injury. The 24-year-old, who hasn't played since losing the Indian Wells Masters final in straight sets to Roger Federer, will be replaced in the main draw by Ricardo Mello.

Hewitt had been using an Olympic Park clay-court in Sydney to prepare for the May 23-June 5 Roland Garros major, since surgery to a foot injury.

Hewitt returned to Adelaide to have the cysts removed from his battered feet and has slowly intensified training under coach Roger Rasheed.

Xavier Malisse, the Belgian who was suspended by the ATP for four weeks on Tuesday due to abusive behaviour to a lines judge in Miami, sees his position filled by Mariano Zabaleta.

American Taylor Dent will be replaced by Florian Mayer of Germany.

It´s good for Ferrero to have a week off, he´s been playing every week of the european clay court season and so far many matches, he said after his match against Baghdatis in Estoril that he felt very tired and that it´s good that he gets one days rest before the Moya match today. Maybe he didn´t even request a wild card?!

They didn't give Ferrero a wildcard for Rome? It's not unusual for the recipients to be all Italians though, but I would have thought he would have a good case.

It's just as well that Ferrero didn't lose to Baghdatis the other day then. He's gonna need to do as well in Estoril as possible to secure a Roland Garros seed, because I don't like his chances of a wc in Hamburg either (normally given to Germans).

Schüttler will possibly not play in Hamburg and Rome; he is thinking about making a pause in his career.

WCs for Hamburg will be Petzschner and Kohlschreiber and maybe Burgsmüller or Phau. I am confident that Ferrero will get one.
