If a player get injured and can´t play for six months he get a protected ranking, the ranking he had at that time he got injured, he can then use the protected ranking to play eight tournaments.

And he's used it to enter Barcelona, Munich, Rome, & Hamburg. Maybe he is hoping for a wild card to RG?Patrik77 wrote:El Aynaoui has used his PR for three tournaments so far (Dubai, Key Biscaine and Monte Carlo), he can use it for five more tournaments (8 in total) in nine months time from the first tournament he competed in with his PR (in this case Dubai).nitsansh wrote:So El Aynaoui has used his 8 tournaments with PR?? MMMMh .....3+4 = 7
the 8th can be RG....

I haven't heard anything about retirement. Although he is 33, he was a bit of a late bloomer (like Rafter) & really only started playing his best in his mid/late-20s so he isn't as burned out as some others his age might be. Until his latest injury, he was a top 20 player at the age of 31/32.Patrik77 wrote:He is not in the list above for RG, as Smucav say he maybe is hoping for a WC, but then if he don´t get any what is he saving the last protected ranking for? Isn´t he going to retire soon?

It's said that popp and tursunov are withdraw...

van Scheppingen, Logtens, so somebody know that? BD pherheps.

MARK Philippoussis has the chance to answer Pat Rafter's criticism after being offered Tennis Australia's French Open singles wildcard.
