Lisnard as WC for MonteCarlo ??. I don't wanna be rude, but i think this fact is an insult for the intelligence :o ......Even Donald Young was close to beat him

Lisnard made it to the top 100 this year. His favourite surface is clay & he is French so yeah I think that he deserves a WC. As for Monfils he is just outside the top 100 so probably won't be needing one after that. What has Clement done to deserve a WC? Absolutely nothing

In my opinion, I repeat the WC for Lisnard in an insult for the intelligence , and for example an insult for Gasquet ( and i'm not french and neither Gasquet's fan ), but there are several french players better than Lisnard ,without no doubt .

Compare Clement's career and Lisnard's career, and maybte watching both careers you will know the answer

I do not understand why you are so naughty with JR Lisnard...
His ranking as of Monday, 4/4/2005 : 53
He is one of the best French players :

43 Saulnier, Cyril (FRA)
50 Monfils, Gael (FRA)
50 Mathieu, Paul-Henri (FRA)
53 Lisnard, Jean-Rene (FRA)
63 Clement, Arnaud (FRA)
63 Santoro, Fabrice (FRA)
65 Grosjean, Sebastien (FRA)
84 Llodra, Michael (FRA)
88 Dupuis, Antony (FRA)
92 Carraz, Gregory (FRA)
101 De Chaunac, Sebastien (FRA)
106 Benneteau, Julien (FRA)
111 Devilder, Nicolas (FRA)
120 Patience, Olivier (FRA)
147 Serra, Florent (FRA)
147 Simon, Gilles (FRA)
147 Haehnel, Jerome (FRA)
167 Mutis, Olivier (FRA)
183 Mahut, Nicolas (FRA)

He deserves his wild card...

You're a clever guy using race ranking and not entry ranking........ but Lisnard's current race ranking doesn't mean he's really the 53th best player in the world, the analysis should be more precise than only watching race ranking.

In my opinion players as Clement, Santoro, LLordra, Grosjean , Mutis( maybe someone can be injured, i don't know ) are better players than Lisnard and they would deserve a WC in comparison with Lisnard

the withdrawal deadline for Monte Carlo is tomorrow noon local time, right? So there should be a massive list of withdrawals at some point in the near future?

In my opinion there are also other french guys that deserve this WC more as Lisnard, but you should all know that lisnard come from south france just few km away from monte carlo

The deadline is Friday noon US Eastern time, IE 6PM in Monaco.
Unless the qualifying sign in deadline is earlier, which is the case in Asia or Oceania (time zones GMT+4 and further East).

- He has never managed to reach an ATP final in his entire career (turned pro way back in 1997)
- His best performance in the past 52 weeks was a third round at the Australian Open and a challenger win in st-petersburg.
- He was a second round loser in Monte Carlo last year
- He's number 93 in the world, despite playing 31 tournaments in the past 52 weeks. He lost 17 first round matches.

I'm not impressed. ;)

Why this week information about entry list are so delayed?

Yea, it does seem delayed, I was wondering where the final info was myself.

Though the deadline was only about 40 minutes ago.

Thanks man. Schalken plays Luczak I see :D Good luck to Luczak (and his fan(s) here). I didn't know Koubek was allowed to play matches again after his drug 'problems'.

Koubek played in Valencia this week.

I think it was his first tourney back after the suspension.

Koubek's three month suspension ended March 21st. He returned to the tour in Miami.

http://www.italiantennis.it/ gives the following entry list

Ancic‚ Andreev‚ Beck‚ Berdych‚ Canas‚ Chela‚ Coria‚ Davydenko‚ El aynaoui‚ Federer‚ Ferrer‚ Gaudio‚ Gonzalez‚ Henman‚ Horna‚ Hrbaty‚ J.Johansson‚ T.Johansson‚ Kiefer‚ Kuerten‚ Ljubicic‚ F.Lopez‚ Malisse‚ Mayer‚ Melzer‚ Mirnyi‚ Moya‚ Nadal‚ Novak‚ O.Rochus‚ Rusedski‚ Safin‚ Schuettler‚ Soderling‚ Spadea‚ Srichaphan‚ Stepanek‚ Verdasco‚ VOLANDRI‚ Saulnier‚ Llodra‚ Zabaleta‚ Santoro‚ A.Costa‚ A.Martin‚ Lee‚ Calleri‚ Puerta‚ Karlovic‚ Montanes‚ Arthurs‚ STARACE

If this is correct then the following players have all withdrawn.

Hewitt, Roddick, Agassi, Nalbandian, Robredo, Haas, Youzhny, Massu, Pavel, Grosjean, Dent, Verkerk and Fish.

This list is very plausible... but it was posted on another message board before the noon eastern time deadline.... so I'm not so sure. it'd be nice to have the real list.... it's odd that it's not appearing ANYWHERE!

That could be an explanation for the desappearence of some players from the qualy draw. For example: Calleri, Martin, Lee, Karsen, etc ???

A bit unlucky and a bit unfair for Gilles that wont be able to make it for the Q. Bad loss against Volandri and unlucky for the Monte Carlo Q.

The main draw has been made (should have been nearly 6 hours ago) but not yet posted. News of some first round match ups is out, Federer v Rusedski, Ljubicic v O Rochus. We just have to wait a bit longer :(
