Jay, I think you mixed up the doubles lists again. Graydon and Travis are playing in Scottsdale (and boy was there a little bit of fun involved in that whole team shuffling 'how can we get in' dilemma).

OK, I guess I forgot my own rule (which is weird and probably unnecessary anyway :)) about not giving the main draw names only for challengers.

Kolkschreiber and Tursunov are the ones OUT at Scottsdale.

LOL...I don't know why but that struck me funny. Must be feeling slap happy  .

Anyway, good for Christophe :D .

And this bumps Alex up in the quallie seeds. Not like that has helped much lately but I'm staying positive for him. ;)

Karex: Pless is in the qualies at Scottsdale as the 5th seed.

Guest: Ramirez-Hidalgo is the top seed in the Acapulco qualies, but got a bye to second round beause they only had 15 players there!

Jay (or anyone) will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think that Kristian needed a WC for Scottsdale quallies because he had the ranking and as long as he showed up to sign in for quallies between 7 PM and 9 PM then he was in.

I don't think you have to be on the committment or alternate list to play a tourney. Alex has done it two times that I know of. The penalty to it is that for a player who would normally be main draw he may have to go through the quallies.

Kristian is in the 200s so he was going to have to play quallies anyway. Hope this helped.

Yes, Pless did not have to enter. The only way he could have missed playing the qualies at Scottsdale would be for some 35 odd guys from the ALT list showed up (technically they DO have high priority to play qualies because afterall the had entered though with low ranks). But as always, only some 10 or 15 guys from the ALT entry list show up in any ATP qualies, so there was no question of Pless missing the qualifying cut...

Pless won today and he plays Prakash Amritraj tomorrow in the second round.

Xavier is who else was missing :( . I couldn't figure it out. He has had a couple of good weeks so maybe the time off before IW is what he needs. Don't want him to hit mental burn out when he's doing so well ;)

(1) Tommy Haas withdrew from Scottsdale and was replaced by (LL) Paul Goldstein.
