Always exciting to see players strategy on to which tournaments they go too, in this case it´s so strange to see Coria and Nalbandian in europe indoors instead of playing close to home on clay in south america as they will have a home Davis Cup tie against the Czechs in the beginning of March, would be understandable if they had a DC-tie indoors in europe. Less travelling and being at home should be better than the apperance money they will get :S

James may not need his and Mark may not be able to use his. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. But I would like to see both of them there.

Grosjean might be W/O for Marseille as well...
He is permanently injured... not so worst as Escudé or Golmard...

I found the wording of this announcement amusing:
WILD CARD
27/01/2005

The two first wild cards (direct invitation for the final draw) have been given to Arnaud Clément and Gaël Monfils. The third and last one will be used at the very last moment and may be given to the whimsical Russian player Marat Safin ....

Hi Jay .... Thanks for the Final update
Benneteau is ALT1 for Marseille and is not in the Qdraw, that is kinda weird. I hope he AND Ollie ;) made a last minute MD entry. I'll have to wait for confirmation when the MD comes out later today

Best wishes

Well on his own website Schalken tells Rotterdam will be his next tournament, for which he wants to prepare well. So he has definitely withdrawn from Marseille (after all).

Well, "guest", of course it's not me who decides the wildcards but why not post news here that are on the official website???

He withdrew due to an ankle injury, got that injury while running a couple of weeks ago and doesn´t want that to get worse after many tough matches last week, he played in Milan with painkillers and will be examed on thursday in Stockholm, he hopes to be back next week in Rotterdam
