i'm thinking he gets in with his alternate position if the mass exodus of clay courters happens before qualifying. he needs to get in regardless with his plummeting ranking and 3rd round performance last year.

Andy Murray - possible doubt for Wimbledon

Postby Rob & Stephen » Tue May 22, 2007 7:53 am

According to the BBC, Andy Murrray - having already withdrawn from Roland Garros :Dejected: - is still not certain about his participation at either Queen's or Wimbledon. Although the cast on his wrist is off, it is severly swollen and inflamed and the docs are not too sure what exactly has happenend yet. They will have to wait for the inflamation to receed before making any decisions about him playing again soon. :( He is doing some exercises with the wrist in order to hasten this and also to strengthen it for the future.
We absolutely love BEAR HUGS!!!!

You can check this in the "Tournament Entries 2004/2005/2006- section" on the forum! My guess is he will get in!

Calatrava and Nunez are IN qualifying entry list; Bopanna & Mamiit are alternates (not IN).

Wildcards

Postby Jberendsen » Tue Jun 05, 2007 3:00 am

Is it possible that haase will get a WC???

He can't play the qualies because of Rosmalen and is a former (last year) junior champion, or are all the Wildcards already given to other players??

It's a possibility I'd say. There's 8 to hand out and only really 6 GB candidates who would be considered on the merits of their ranking (Boggo, Bloomfield, Baker, Goodall, Marray and Mackin). The LTA has given a WC to Cilic for Queen's so they certainly aren't blinded by nationality alone and recognise young talent.

A good run at Surbiton this week may have helped his cause but losing in the first round probably isn't good news! ;)

Richard Irwin won a qualy WC in the play offs so he is now listed as having two wild cards! David Brewer lost in the final round of the play offs to Jim May so maybe the other wild card is to Chris Eaton, as Richard Irwin beat him??? :S

Great news that JWT got a MD WC, if he gets nice draw the Wimby crowds are going to really take to him

Malisse and Melzer are out.
Malisse is official. Melzer is undergoing wrist injury apparently, he wont be back for 2008.

If Ancic officially pulls out after the qualy draw is made, will it be a Lucky Loser in the draw or will AELTC do the decent thing and give Mahut a rest and a place in the MD?

The qualifying draw is already out.

After the first ball is struck in qualifying, the main draw alternate list is dead. If anyone else withdraws, he will be replaced by a lucky loser.

There is never a draw anymore it's the highest seeded player in the qualifying draw to make it to the last round....Bracciali will be next and the order will continue based on the qualy seeding

that said the fact Dancevic couldn't quality on his own is ridiculous, this guy isn't winning much of anything....Maybe he can get a bounce from this break

Dancevic got pulled out of the hat first
