WC for qualifies

Postby zekozecic » Tue Mar 06, 2007 5:34 pm

Director of the tournament is Franulovic, former Croatian tennis hero. Perhaps Marin Cilic will get a WC for qualifies this year as he did last year

The draw is different this year ?

Stupid remark, Marin Cilic this year probably will not need any WC for qualification tournament ...

just a thought on the bjorkman question: he's not getting any younger and clay is his worst surface. maybe he plans (or should plan) to play only doubles until after the french open and give his body a rest.

On the other hand it is his last chance to play main draw singles in those three clay court masters series tournaments

Yes, he is still working with Norman, but only on a part time basis. Norman has to work with his "real job" and can only travel with Thomas limited time

as always no us-american goes to monte carlo but every single of them played in houston(roddick, blake, fish, ginepri). doesn't the atp care about that? don't they have to pay a big fine for missing that tournament every single year???

Roddick withdrew from Houston with a hamstring injury.

Players are allowed two withdrawals from AMS events & one withdrawal from an optional tournament per year without penalty (as long as the withdrawals are not late). Players who do not play AMS events where they are direct entrants receive zeros for the ATP rankings & race.

See my post here (about 2/3 down the page) for a summary of the 2007 rule changes:
