Why should he? He didn´t play there last year either. Many european players skip that week in South America because the week after is a Davis Cup week. Better to stay at home and practice and then in week 7 go to South America and play the "three in a row". The Russians are in Vina just because of the DC in Chile the week after.

Marin Cilic will surely get a wild card in Zagreb, as he always has in Croatian tournaments, if he does not reach the "last direct acceptance" level or does not get injured.

the last wild card in Zabreg is Marcos Baghdatis

BAGHDATIS GET’S THE THIRD INVITATION22.1.2007
The Australian Open finalist and Wimbeldon semifinalist, Cyprian tennis player, Marcos Baghdatis was the last one who asked for “wild-card” and got the positive response. The tournament director, Branimir Horvat and tournament co-director, Goran Ivanišević decided to give him the invitation for the main draw.

Beyond tennis players applied for PBZ Zagreb Indoors, there are three players from the top of the world tennis – last year winner Ivan Ljubicic, scotish Andy Murray and finn Jarrko Nieminen, and now there is Baghdatis redy to join them as 11th tennis player at the ATP entry list.

Because of his expressed personality, carismatic 21 years old Cypranian became very popular among all the tournaments that joins and there is no doubt that PBZ Zagreb Indoors is getting even more attractive.

The tournament director Branimir Horvat and tournament co-director Goran Ivanišević delayed two “wild-card” invitations for the main draw to Croatian tennis players Ivo Karlovic and Marin Cilic

Paul-Henri Mathieu is nearly sure out in Zagreb

All the special exempts will be cleared. (Fish is the lowest ranked player left at AO & he would have been a direct entry into all three tournaments.)

Interesting to see how Oscar Hernandez will manage his two matches in two different events today. At 12:30 he´s gonna play the semifinal in the Santiago Challenger and five hours later, at 5:30, he will play in the qualifying of the Vina Del Mar tournament.

How far is it between Santiago and Vina? Because assume he will have a 2.5 hour match in the semis and then head to Vina, looks like it could be tight with the time?!

And Oscar Hernández won't be the only player to play both tournaments. Adrián García plays semifinal match of Santiago at 16 hrs. and then goes to Viña del Mar to play 1st round match of qualyfing at 20:30 hrs.

PD - It's 1 hour from Santiago to Viña, nearly 120 kilometers of distance.
