Actually Galimberti was already in at Cordenons .. They must have changed the initial list (Koellerer was taken out)

At Samarkand, Im was later added to the list it seems. So Tereschuk was one out..

I have corrected the lists above. Sorry, I hadn't noticed the corrections ATP made.

And Luka Gregorc is at Samarkand trying to qualify, while he had made the cut at Menta in the last minute .. Well, what can they do when their fellow players do not help one bit, by waiting till the very last day to withdraw from places they have NO intention of playing ..

It is amazing the number of times we can figure out who would withdraw from each of these lists .. In the end, most of these guesses come true. Why can't these big shots just withdraw early enough and let the liusts move, so that the poor guys trying to get themselves a break somehow, can get a spot early enough?

ATP needs to have a slightly different fine structure. Fine everybody who withdraws in the last week some couple of hundred bucks or something (not too much, as there are some legitimate cases too) to prevent people from entering events just for the heck of it (thinking "perhaps I might feel like playing on clay in Samarkand in two weeks" kind of stuff), or if they are pretty sure of not going (ie, haven't even talked to the travel agent about Samarkand) with a week to go, They should withdraw. That would at least give some players a chance.

It is pathetic to see how all these lists have like 3 withdrawals with 3 days to go and have like 15 on thursday and friday.

And these withdrawals shouldn;t be tied to where they are playing one week and if they are active there or not. One should be allowed to just WITHDRAW from next week without even an explanation, for a small penalty rather than be fined big for a no-show.

Look at the withdrawls from the initial entry lists this week, for the 5 challengers.

6 withdrawls by wednesday,
9 by thursday,
23 by friday

Don't tell me these 17 players had to wait till thursday/friday to withdraw! .. A good number simply waited because they had nothing to lose, and a few had to wait because of the ATP rules. It all sucks.
