I think it unlikely that Agustin Calleri will play here. According to this article http://www.ole.clarin.com/jsp/v4/pagina ... Id=1194855 he is suffering from a reoccurance of the back poblems that kept him off the circuit a long time last year, and may not even make Roland Garros - so I don't think he will risk anything here.

http://www.atppoertschach.info/english/index.html

Austrians on the starting list:
Eitzinger, R (AUT)
Gruber, D (AUT)
Koubek, S (AUT)
Marach, O (AUT)
Melzer, J (AUT)
Mirnegg, M (AUT)
Wiltschnig, H (AUT)

Only Melzer is a direct entry so it appears that the other six may be the main draw/qualifying wild cards.

I attended Future #5 in the Vilas Racket Club a few weeks ago and I saw Calleri training. As you well said he is still injured and working on to be back for the French Open. This is his second year in a row with a long term injury that does not allow him to play his best tennis.

Kind regards,

F

Thanks for the update Fran. Agustin is one of my favourite players - I am sad to see him suffering such problems which could well be career-threatening at his age and stage of his career :(

I agree with you. I admire him too and it´s a pity that he´s suffering these injuries at the end of his career. But he is fighter and will not give up that easy. I think he will remain on the tour for a few years more.
If you need any information about Argentine tennis or players feel free to contact me.

Keep your eyes on this young French player. I saw him playing with Nalbandian in Estoril and plays really well.

Just looked at main draw on the ATP site and Scheuttler is still listed.
Also how come Gasquet had to play the qualies at this tournament.

Gasquet was offered a Wild Card into the Main Draw, but turned it down because he wanted to get more match practice and felt that going through quallies was the best way to do that. And Schuettler is definately OUT (he had a fever and pulled out this morning) - the Site is just very slow to update.
