the qualifying sign-in for international series events is usually Friday 7-9pm...there is no list beforehand, so we just have to wait for the draw

Jay, if Starace got in Barcelona, I assume he's out of the alternates list for Casablanca.

Probably he will get in into both of the tournaments and will choose in which one of them he´s gonna play. But if he chooses Barcelona then yes, he will be out of Casablanca

wow... I thought it was automatic, if a player got to enter a main draw in a tournament, he couldn't pull out to enter other tournament's main draw to take place on the same week. Didn't know the players had this choice.

If you enter the main draw from the beginning then you can´t pull out and choose to play any other tournament the same week, but if you´re on the alternate list you can always choose if you get into more than one tournament the same week

If a player is a direct entry, he can't withdraw & play in another tournament. If a player is an alternate, he can withdraw before the deadline & play in another tournament. An alternate, like a wild card, isn't officially IN until the deadline and/or the draw.

I hope no one minds if I take a stab at this, I was only able to look at one tournament. Sorry it's not as nice looking as Jay's work, its my first try.

Barcelona (I think the SE has cleared)
Out: Verkerk, Gasquet, Chela, Johansson and Novak (and Waske off the ALT list)
In: Kohlschreiber, Sluiter, N.Lapentti
Next: Gimelstob, Marin, Behrend, Vicente

I don't know about this link buddy, but an Argentine friend of mine also tells me that Nalbandian is out - he heard it on local radio there.

Ljubicic and Acasuso have been replaced by O. Hernandez and Gabashvili on the tournament website.
That would presumably mean Hernandez will withdraw from Casablanca.

For the early rounds if you would be around, you can support Gael Monfils (the louder you shout Allez Gael the happier he is :P), Jarkko Nieminen, Teimuraz Gabashvili (he's the comedian... if you want to see non-commercial version of Safin you should see his match). And maybe Korolev will make a main draw, he is the one to watch.

Have a nice time in Barcelona. The best luck to Calleri!
so sick of love songs.
