Is there any official news of Wild Cards (apart from Lisnard) in both main draw and quallies? Thanks.

Yet again the ATP do not seem to have solved the
problem of players not playing the required events :x

What do you suggest they do? If players don't want to play a particular event for whatever reason, they're going to find a way not to play it, even if it costs them a fine or whatever.

At least not this one, and Paris at the end of the year. Those two seem to be the ones that suffer the most withdrawals. I think the players have figured out that if everybody (including Federer) skips one Masters event, then they are all even with each other and it doesn't really hurt them by the end of the year. It is a bit ridiculous, but if DeVilliers is serious about changing the schedule, perhaps he'll find a way to address this.

Well didn't they try to do that this year by making sure Houston is permanently before Monte Carlo? It used to be that Monte Carlo often came first, then Houston then Rome 2 weeks later and obviously these guys wouldn't make that trip twice but now it's before. If they want to go they can. They'd have to change it to have a whole week off before Monte Carlo, I'd guess, or they'll continue to skip it I bet. That or make some harsher punishment system somehow.

Why did Paul Goldstein pull out? The career minor leaguer of professional tennis finally gets a main entry draw to a Master Series and he pulls out. And Monte Carlo of all places, the one place I would probably like to visit most out of all the destinations on the ATP Tour.

Goldstein was 12th on the original Alternate list. I guess he decided not to take a chance on getting in and entered the Bermuda Challenger instead. It looks like he will be the Number one seed.
