For sure Safin hasn't wanted to waste one of his protected ranking chances since knowing Johansson's withdrawal then he's the first alternate so his presence is almost sure needing only one more withdrawal .

I totally agree with the comments of bass. I come here to get tennis news - if I want back biting and bitching then there is always plenty of that on MTF :roll:

Deb is a regular poster on MTF and, in my opinion, one of the most sensible and fair-minded ones - I do not think it fair or decent that some troll who won't even give their name attacks her here. Please can we get back to talking tennis and leave the playground insults somewhere else. Thanks.

c'est tout ce qu'il a gagné lisnard en devenant monégasque. Car depuis qu'il l'est on ne peut pas dire que les résultats soient florissants. Bien au contrraire.
Mais cette désertion aura pour résultats que'il ne sera plus invité à roland garros

Lucky73 - please do not make withdrawal announcements unless you have solid sources (say it, iof you can) .. We do not like to start rumors in these boards and cause trouble to tournaments.

I don't like the fact that tournaments make publicity with players everyone includinfg tournament board knows they won't come.

Agassi already said more than once that he won't play the clay season this year, and ToJo will only return in June apparently, so these withdrawals, although not being official yet, are 100% certain.

As for Hewitt, I haven't heard anything.

Seb, no problem if we just say "95% likely that he will withdraw" or leave the link to an article like the Agassi article, which indicates that he may withdraw.

Saying "OUT - Agassi, Hewitt, T.Johansson" should be done carefully, that is all. They have NOT officially withdrawn, or ATP has NOT published that info (and based on my observation, I don't think ATP deliberatesly delays publishing the info once they have it - we have often found them scratching players early. They may be slow to publish sometimes regardless of which player it is, that's all)

I have indeed found a few cases where people had said so and so would 95% withdraw, that the player showed up and played! .. Heck, many tennis players truly don't know till it is three days to go whether their body is ready for a tournament.

Just give the source [Or, as in my case, say your have "unnamed sources"

], but only report things that have happened as happened, and others as what is expected.

So, I am 95% sure that Agassi would withdraw, based on that article

Thanks Judio. Really, there is no problem in reporting news on possible withdrawals. Just say where you saw it and leave it as a possibility (and preferably also why he is expected to withdraw - like "Agassi has a bad back - BBC says he might be withdrawing from X events" - like that) ... That would be fine.

and later they all played.... except of Gaudio but he was at the place ready to compete and placed in a draw, just doctor told him not to play in the very last moment!

Apparently, the clay at Houston is no different than the one at Roland Garros. The problem there is the field, which is weaker than the ones from almost every tournament in the European season (with the exception of Casablanca).
