I heard Guga's being offered a WC to Valencia.
Any truth in that?

Anyway, I talked to his people and they said even if he were offered a WC, he wouldn't make up his mind right away about going there...

It's true.

I personally think that the probability of him actually making use of the WC is low. He has a DC tie the weekend before in Ecuador and he may well do the same thing he did this year in Vina del Mar, Buenos Aires and Acapulco - withdrawing a few days before the tournament starts. He's definitely not willing to play an extensive schedule and he's taking the decisions according to how he feels physically.

Anybody knowing anything about wildcards for this weeks events?

A.Costa and Safin to Valencia

Baghdatis and Fish are mentioned in "players" on the Houston site, WC I suppose then? I find it pretty strange that Baghdatis will go all the way from the away DC-tie in Bulgaria all the way to Houston and then back to Monte Carlo the following week! $$$?

Known doubles entries
(Not binding commitment to play; just the initial interest indicated to ATP)

Houston: Bryan/ Bryan, Knowles/ Nestor, Goldstein/ Thomas
Valencia: None yet.

As for Matka / Frytka, they are not going to play doubs there. After DC they're heading to Monte Carlo.
