LOL, pity my grandmother passed away years ago.

Does this mean that qualifying would be cancelled because everyone is in the main draw?

Well, there would be players who would show up, without having entered. They are always allowed to play qualies. There is actually a good number of players playing the qualis (according to the draw at the link above). Only one ranked player in the qualies, I think.

So, actually any grandmother would have had to show up and play qualies (and would need to dress up as a man too, I think!) .. So, I was not exactly right in what I said!

Almost only players of Reunion Island entered the qualies and theyare very weak, say French ranking 1/6 to 5/6 (ITN 2 to ITN 4 for comparison). It means that an average European Future qualifying player wouldn't have any problem to make MD.

Only one "French continental" relatively good player played the qualies, David Tavernier (-4/6) and went through without any problem.

Given that it is every year the same (no ATP ranked players in the qualies), I can't understand that no good French (or other) player takes the chance to fly to Reunion instead of struggling the whole season in Europena Future qualifying events. It is very surprising because the next weeks are very high level French tournaments played on the island (both with €6,000 prizes money) and it could be easy to rentabilise the 1000€ for the air ticket.
