Weird that both Canas and Johansson appear on the list, where they did not in Madrid.

Have the WC's been announced yet?
Is there any chance of Murray getting one or are they 'reserved' for French players?

Are you sure, or are you anti-French?
Of course, Mathieu and Santoro should probably get WC being French and being poplular, but.....
how much do tournament directors think about who can sell tickets? Most tennis fans would be interested in seeing an up-and-comer, like Murray, over some 200 ranked French guy, don't you think? I always wonder exactly how the WC's get decided.

I'm not anti French. The WC's always go to French players in Paris. You only have to read the tournament website to see that.

From a French perspective, Gael Monfils now joins Sebastien Grosjean in the main draw. They should soon be joined by other French players benefiting from wildcards (due to be announced very shortly), while in the event of any further withdrawals, the next in line for direct entry in the main draw is Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Does anyone know when the quallie draw WIld Cards will be announced? And will they all go to young up-and-coming French players too - or maybe to those on the quallie alternate list such as Djokovic or Garcia-Lopez?

There will be 4 WC for qualies, and as 3 french are very close in the qualy list, they should get them. It concerns Simon, Llodra and Dupuis
Last year, 2 young french had successful qualies : Monfils and Tsong (they also won first round in Main)
One year after, Monfils confimed, but Tsonga had a white season (only 7 turnaments because of a shoulder problem) and recently came back with a win in a french Future
May be will he have the last WC ?

Who controls whether there will be special exempts or not. They seem like a sensible idea to me. Without them, players get punished for doing well in a tournament the previous week. :KooKoo:

With three big tournaments the preceeding week you would expect Paris to be an obvious place to have at least one special exempt .

I think there is a rule that SE spots are only given if there are tournaments of the same level or in case of Masters Series events of MS events or ISG events. So a "normal" ATP-event can give a SE spot to someone who is also in a "normal" ATP-event, a challenger to a challenger and so on....And because there are this week only IS-events and no ISG or MS event, there is no SE spot.

Ah, good point. However, I think that the ATP needs to look at their rating of events, because both Basle and St. Petersburg have larger prize pools and more points than nearly all of the ISG events (apart from Dubai and Barcelona).

* Tursunov was listed twice in the Q, with his regular and injury-protected ranking. Now he can play qualies on his regular rank of 125, which placed him at 24th out in the initial ALT list (instead of the PR rank which was 76 at #3 in ALT) ...

1)If you were ranked high enough to enter on the FIRST list and dont play

eg Youzhny J Johansson then you score a 0 Point

2)If you were on the alternate list and SUCEED in Qualifying
then you score your mandatory Points from this event

3) If you are on the alternate list and EITHER lose in Qualifying OR
Dont play the Main Draw then you do not count this event
as a Mandatory and can add a "Best 6th" from other Tournaments instead

4) Anyone who is in the Main Draw MUST count their points(however low) into
their Entry Ranking
