Actually it is, the last two years the cut has been even better than it is this year! Before Lyon was two weeks earlier in the calender than this year, Lyon changed week with Stockholm.

ah, thanks! Well that's excellent. I guess the proximity to all the tourneys to both Madrid and Paris makes it make sense that all the fields are so strong but it still a pleasant surprise to see such strong fields at all the events. If only more of them were on tv in the US.

I see Jan Hernych is in all 3 alternate lists. He will probably get in all of them once the SE spots are cleared. What happens in this case ?

If he gets into MD in more than one tournament, he would go to the one he chose as higher preference.

I think I read somewhere that Llodra and Santoro decided to break up as a team. I'm not sure when that will happen because this week they played together in Moscow. :roll:

They won't play any longer together next year but they will play till the end of 2005 and try to qualify for the Masters.

The reason for the break is that Llodra wants to focus more on singles.
Santoro will play regularly in 2006 with Nenad Zimonjic and with young French players at French tournaments.

So 7 people have Withdrawn So Far

1 Mayer is in either Basel or Lyon
2 Clement is in Lyon
3 Hernych is in either of the three
4 Sabau is in Basel or St Petersburg
5 Lapentti is in
6 Seppi is in (because either Hernych or Mayer must decline one of the acceptances)
===============

7 Djokovic will get in if Mayer takes Basel and Hernych declines Lyon

only Ivo Karlovic qualifies for an SE. the rest are all entered in the main draws. So i think one SE spot should be open.

According to the Basel website, Michael Lammer and Andy Murray have been awarded wildcards into the main draw.

Lyon's website offers no clues as to their chosen ones.
