TOG F1 is gonna beat all records: only 2 players form top 1000, only 10 ranked players !!!
At this time the ITF did not publish any qualifying draw, we can think it was not held !

Someone knows something better ? I just remeber Brunei Future in 1998 with no qualifying and byes in the main draw !

Draw is out

Postby Estevao Rohr » Tue Jul 27, 2004 8:25 am

In the ITF site, the singles draw is already out, and there's no byes. The entry list had just 8 players! How did the other players entered in the main draw? Is it allowed, an unranked player getting direct entry into a future main draw? Thanks...

I think that this could be good for tennis. It surprises me sometimes how full qualifying draws are with ranked players, especially in satellite series.
Surely, they don't think that they can get ranking points in a 128/64 draw qualifying tournament.
Just think of all the new names appearing on the ranking lists because of this.
Being cynical now, it could be worth the LTA or other national organisation entering loads of unranked players into this tournaments just to get these players their first ranking points!
We absolutely love BEAR HUGS!!!!
