Why Agassi will play Houston as a WC and not a direct acceptance ? . A pair of days later of Houston list was closed he changed his decision and decided to play in Houston ?

They better give Blake the last wildcard into houston - poor thing actually has points to defend there.

They're even advertising him on the tournament website!!!

BD,

ATP sent out a correction on the initial list for Barcelona. Andreev, Igor RUS 46 was missing in the original list. So, Hernych is now first out.

Also, they list only one SE spot for Barcelona..

ok, I have added Andreev to the list.
On the 1 SE-spot : I guess that there will be 8 qualifiers this year then.(Last year : 7) Cause 5 Wild Cards would be a bit to much I think.

Barcelona is ISG tournament, I guess that's why it has 1 SE.

The chance of SE being used is very small anyway... someone ranked below 72 has to make the semis at Monte Carlo... it's rare to have one player eligible, 2 is unheard off... anyone recalls 2 such lower ranked players in MS semis???

He´s an alternate in Barcelona, so if enough players withdraw (14) then he´s in, otherwise he´ll probably rest this week or maybe take a wildcard into some challenger?!

As I said, no list has come my way for 4-5 days since ATP revamped their web site for the players and my sources have still to go and re-register etc ....

So no updates :( .. Hopefully can restart soon, though actually I am unsure about even that.

Emily: Thanks. It was Joaquim.. edited above.

As for the main draw, the list will be first finalized by the time the qualifying matches start. The qualifying draw list will be finalized by Friday evening and the draw made by late evening (the only sign-in is for alternates to the qualifying). If there are withdrawals in the main draw before the first Q match is played on saturday, then the main draw NEXT-IN entries would go from qualifying draw to main draw list and replaced by alternates in the qualifying. Once the qualifying matches start, the main draw list is officially final. Any MD withdrawals after that would become qualifier/luckyloser spots in the main draw.

Postby Taxmanpat » Thu Apr 14, 2005 2:32 pm

Its great to see your sources are back... it was hard for a while without my daily fix of updates. :)

Any chance on the Houston Q list ? I'm expecting some of my country mates (well, at least one) to be there

Tx in advance
Let me tell you how it will be.... It's 1 for you, 19 for me, 'cause I'm the Taxman.

I suppose the only candidate for SE is Gasquet... so why BOTH tournaments keep the spot open? Doesn't he have to decide where he wants to go? (most likely Barcelona...)

Would Ferrero be eligible for a SE spot as well? This would free up an extra WC place in Barcelona.

So the qualies dropped a lot on the last day. Not uncommon for that to happen.

I don't see a fact sheet for Houston. Is the sign-in the regular 7 PM-9 PM?

Most main draws don't come out till Saturday but this is Houston... (sorry, but this is one of my least favorite tourneys and zI don't even need to go there to confirm it :) )

My main concern is Quallies right now though :)

Thanks for the info Patatriek.

Well, the Houston main draw is out - at the link above.. Looks like the SE spot they kept was not used, and that went to Popp.

Qualifying won't come out till past 9 or 10 pm there ..

Gasquet has played so far 17 consecutive matches without any breaks. He needs t take next week off. Hopefully that's what he would do. As for Donald Young, how why does he not play at the futures level? Does he want to keep losing at the first round?

Thanks again, Jay. Why do so many of the guys I like have to play here? :x

I just noticed that Dmitry just missed the cut-off :x

If only the Qualifying Draw would be released this early so I can quit pacing and tapping my fingers
